21 day challenges.........
So it takes 21 days to create a new habit..........that means we could create 17 new habits in a year. Lets be realistic though we need a few days off here and there, so lets go for 15.
This is the spot at "Love Yourself Beautiful" where I store all the tools and information we need to get habit making.
I will be creating new habits right along side you, you can do what I'm doing or set your own fab new habits, they must be simple and kind though........ I will track my journey here with little tid-bits to help keep us on track. After each challenge we can decide whether we want to take it on permanently or not.
I'm so excited I can't wait to get started.

Why 21 days............
There is some research that tells us it takes 21 days to form a habit, that is because it takes 21 days for new neuro pathways to be fully formed in your brain. Some people think it takes longer and others think you must strictly adhere to the 21 days. I think 21 days is just perfect, its an ideal amount of time to feel the benefits of the new habit, Its not too long, it doesn't feel too hard............I hate hard stuff.
It would be fantastic if you could commit to the 21 days, but don't be hard on yourself if it doesn't happen, maybe its not the right thing for you or your timing might be off, try it again at a later stage. If you miss a day or two don't stress .............80% is a pass rate to me. xx
21 day challenges are not just for creating new healthy habits they can also be used for giving up bad habits or just for trying out something new.
One of the great success secrets of sportsman and highly effective people are their habits. Most of these habits are small things, they don’t have to be big or difficult in fact the smaller the better but they do have to have emotion attached to them.
Anything you do with repetition and emotion will become your reality, so if you don’t like where you are at, best check out your habits or if you want to go somewhere new get some emotion baby!
What that means is you need to be very clear why you want to put this habit in place, what’s in it for you, what do you really want to achieve? Are you actually doing it for you or are you doing because Maureen down the road does it? Do you really believe in the benefits you read in that magazine, does your body want and need it?
Once you are certain write down your intention and attach a positive affirmation to it. Write these out a few times and put them where you will see them, where you need to be reminded to get on with it. Heres some examples of some I did for the water challenge. You can download them and cut them out.
Next you need to decide how you are going to make this happen, how is this new habit going to fit into your life? Do you need to create a time for this new habit? What tools do you need? Reset the alarm for an earlier start, buy a portable drink canister, find a beautiful journal put it and a pen by your bed or wherever you are going to do your journaling or express your thanks to the universe. Think about things that might get in the way or hinder your progress, come up with a plan so you are ready should that situation arise.
Get some support, share what you are doing with people who matter, people who love you and will encourage you along the way……….someone like me……..let me know what you are doing and I will be there for you. I am always doing a new challenge so we can support each other ok.
If you are finding it really hard just STOP, either its not the right habit for you or the timing isn’t right. You will know in your heart if it’s right. Don't beat yourself up............you are amazing just for caring enough to give it a go. Heres your permission slip to try again later.
Ok are you ready, have you got everything………Lets go………
Oh I forgot we need a reward for when we complete our challenge, think about what that might be.....my favorite part.
Now download this 'habit love chart' and lets get on with it……..
Remember I am here for you and I’m doing it too.
